Is the onslaught of pings from texts, DMs, emails and calls leaving you overwhelmed?
Have you found yourself scrolling social feeds wondering if you should be living life differently?
Are you struggling to concentrate on (and procrastinating over) day-to-day tasks?
Do you find it difficult to sleep and regularly wake up exhausted?
Are you emotionally drained from trying to balance being a good daughter/sister/friend/girlfriend/wife/mother/boss, while working to achieve your own goals?
And do you feel a bit guilty about all this because...
well, #FirstWorldProblems.
We feel you.
We're in a well-documented crisis, with daily headlines (and the UK's first Burnout Report), highlighting how Millennial women are feeling it the hardest.
There are plenty of reasons why we’re struggling:
...the pace of life driven by technology
...the comparison culture fuelled by social media
... the gender work/life imbalance
We grew up being told we could "have it all" and we powered our way through #LeanIn culture.
Now we're exhausted. And we're struggling to define who we are, what we want, what we believe in and how we should be living our lives. And without that firm foundation, we’re getting a bit lost.
The Switch Off is a space for you to disconnect from technology and reconnect with yourself.
By running short, silent, digital detoxes, we give you a moment of calm and self-reflection in an otherwise hectic schedule. Because sometimes the only way to ensure a bit of peace and quiet, is to diarise it!
Our silent (no-talking) sessions are ideal for those days when you want to be left alone but not be alone - when you want to go out, but not go out-out.
Sessions also provide an opportunity to think about the bigger questions – the important ones that you push to one side because you're just trying to get through the day/week/year.
The Switch Off gives you the chance to get to know yourself better. It recognises that the most important relationship you’ll ever have is the one you have with yourself and encourages you to spend time exploring who you are and what you want from life.
The evidence to show how switching off your phone is vital for your wellbeing is endless.
Studies continually demonstrate how it:
*improves mood
*reduces anxiety and stress
*improves sleep quality
*increases energy levels
*boosts focus and concentration
*helps you build deeper connections
We know all this. The benefits of turning off your phone have been proven time and time again.
And yet we don't.
Because it's bloody hard!
